Premature Graying

Graying (Canities) is usually a part of the ageing process. However, the greying of hair before the age of 35 years is considered as Premature Graying.

Graying happens because of reduction in color pigments known as Melanin. Usually the dilution of pigments is Hereditary. Premature Graying
A cell present in the hair follicle, known as "Melanocyte" produces a pigment known as "Melanin", which colour the hair shaft. Absence of melanin is considered to be the cause of graying of hair.
